Would you like to make a difference in a student\u2019s life? Consider becoming an Ascender Mentor<\/strong> at Austin Community College.<\/p>\n

Ascender mentors are professionals who want to support students during their first year of college. Many of our students are the first in their families to attend college<\/strong>, and having a mentor provides encouragement, guidance, and a valuable connection to the professional world.<\/p>\n

Students consistently share that their mentors play an important role in their academic success and personal growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Steps to Become a Mentor<\/h2>\n

  1. Complete the Mentor Interest Form<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Complete the New Mentor Orientation<\/strong> (virtual orientation held in August).<\/li>\n
  3. Sign the Mentor Commitment Form<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After completing these steps, the Ascender manager and coordinator will review mentor profiles and match mentors with incoming students based on shared interests and experiences.<\/p>\n

    Mentors and mentees will be contacted via email during the first week of September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
