The student can use the child care provider of their choice and if eligible, ACC pays the child care provider directly each month through invoicing to assist with child care costs.<\/p>\n<p>All Childcare Scholarships require a commitment from the student to engage in case management with their CARE Coordinator. This case management includes semester goal setting and regularly scheduled meetings throughout the semester.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are you eligible?<\/h2>\n<p>Childcare Scholarships supports students from economically disadvantaged households, here are some basic guidelines for eligiblity:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have applied for financial aid, by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) and through the Department of Education process it has been determined that your Student Aid Index  (SAI) is less than 1500.<\/li>\n<li>Alternate Income Verification can be done using the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). Students who make 200% or less of the <a href=\"https:\/\/aspe.hhs.gov\/topics\/poverty-economic-mobility\/poverty-guidelines\">current year\u2019s FPG<\/a> are eligible for the Advocacy Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At this time, continuing education and adult education students are not eligible for child care scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>All students who apply for a&nbsp;Childcare Scholarship are required to apply for <a href=\"https:\/\/childcare.twc.texas.gov\/find\/welcome\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/childcare.twc.texas.gov\/find\/welcome\">Texas Workforce Solutions Child Care Services (CCS)<\/a> in the area they live.&nbsp;If awarded Texas Workforce Solutions Child Care Services (CCS) benefits, students are required to accept and move to CCS for childcare assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Childcare Scholarship Awards are available for children under the age of 12.<\/p>\n<p>Childcare Scholarships are awarded for courses in an approved degree program. Upon graduation, students must reapply to be considered for a new Childcare Scholarship Award.<\/p>\n<p>Childcare Scholarship Payment Amounts are as follows for the 2025-2026 school year:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\">\n<table class=\"has-fixed-layout\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Credit Hours<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>ACC Payment Amount<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Student Copay Amount<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>12+ Credit Hours or Equivalent, Full-time Clinicals<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>ACC pays 90% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<td>Student pays 10% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>9-11 Credit Hours<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>ACC pays 80% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<td>Student pays 20% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>6-8 Credit Hours<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>ACC pays 60% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<td>Student pays 40% of childcare cost<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/figure>\n<p>*Scholarships are not available for&nbsp;students enrolled in under 6 credit hours<\/p>\n<p> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Student Emergency Fund<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>The ACC Student Emergency Fund (SEF) can help you stay focused with a short term financial assistance payment. If you have an unexpected financial emergency that affects your classroom responsibilities and impacts your ability to meet your basic needs, SEF may be able to help.<\/p>\n<p>The following expenses will be considered for SEF:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Housing (may include rent or utilities and internet\/wi-fi access)<\/li>\n<li>Health care, including prescription medication, vision correction, emergency dental care<\/li>\n<li>Transportation (car repairs)<\/li>\n<li>Academic technology\/materials (computer, calculators, software, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/mental-health-counseling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here for assistance with mental health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be attending classes at the time of request<\/li>\n<li>Must have proof or documentation of an unexpected event or emergency<\/li>\n<li>Continuing Education students may apply if participating in one of these\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1PUxTBDtE7fvPOayzkSJ6RH6J6XBpDXHZyqaiwrvLWwc\/edit?gid=0#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB8 programs<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Students in Adult Education are not eligible at this time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply for the Student Emergency Fund<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Step 1:&nbsp;<\/strong>Complete the support request here:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/austincc.my.site.com\/StudentCareCenter\/s\/login\/?ec=302&amp;startURL=%2FStudentCareCenter%2Fs%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Submit A Request<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 2:&nbsp;<\/strong>Check your ACC Gmail to secure an appointment with a CARE Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong>&nbsp;Meet with your CARE Coordinator (virtually or in person). The coordinator will discuss with you how best to meet your short term needs. Not all requests will be approved for emergency aid.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may receive a maximum of $1,000 within an academic year (includes fall, spring and summer semesters).<\/li>\n<li>You may receive emergency funds only one time a semester.<\/li>\n<li>You may make a request each semester in which you are enrolled, as long as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are enrolled and attending classes at the time of the request, and<\/li>\n<li>The total amount you request remains under $1,000 within the academic year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You may make a SEF request after the 12th class day of any long semester.<\/li>\n<li>SEF will close before the end of each semester, depending on available funds.<\/li>\n<li>SEF will not be available during intersession.<\/li>\n<li>SEF does not reimburse expenses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Faculty and Staff:&nbsp;If you would like a CARE Coordinator to reach out to a student about services, please complete this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?AustinCC&amp;layout_id=111\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">referral form.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:400\"><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Textbook Loan Program<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\">The&nbsp;CARE Coordination Team maintains a collection of textbooks for students to borrow and gives priority to students receiving assistance. Other students may request a loan after the first week of classes.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/library.austincc.edu\/gen-info\/Services\/ss-txtbk.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See information and a list of textbooks.<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Foster Care Alumni<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\">Any student that has aged out of foster care or is adopted from the Texas foster care system can receive case management, academic advising, guidance, and be connected to local and national, supporting organizations through the CARE Coordination Team.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Community Basic Needs Resources<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\">CARE Coordinators connect students to community organizations that offer help with childcare, employment, food, healthcare or housing. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Food Access<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>A CARE Coordinator can meet with any currently enrolled student to offer support in finding food access solutions that include assistance with locating community or campus resources that would fit the student&#8217;s needs or in completing the Texas Health and Human Services application to access SNAP, WIC, or Medicaid.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.my.site.com\/StudentCareCenter\/s\/login\/?ec=302&amp;startURL=%2FStudentCareCenter%2Fs%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Submit a request for support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All students have access to the Riverbat Bites Food Pantry. <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/essential-resources\/riverbat-bites-food-pantry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find the pantry on your campus<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-responsive  embed-responsive-16by9\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item\"   class=\"embed-responsive-item\"   title=\"ACC Student Advocacy Center- Public Benefits Info\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/e_n5UDY1eLg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Request Services &amp; Assistance <\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When to submit a request<\/h3>\n<p>Requests are reviewed on-going throughout the academic calendar year.
