The following information helps you determine, track, maintain, and re-establish your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligiblity<\/h2>\n<p>Your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status is determined when you apply for financial aid. It is based on all previous academic history at ACC. Once you receive aid, your academic progress is evaluated at the end of every semester.  <strong>You must meet ALL three standards below to be eligible:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">1. Grade Point Average<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><strong>Grade Point Average: <\/strong>Maintain a cumulative 2.0 or higher GPA for ACC classes.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">2. Course Completion<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><strong>Course Completion:<\/strong> Successfully complete 67% of attempted credits.<br \/>For example: If you enrolled in 12 credits but your withdrew (W) from 6 credits, you have only completed 50% of your attempted credits.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">3. Degree Progress<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><strong>Degree Progress:<\/strong> Demonstrate progress toward finishing your program of study within a 150% maximum time frame. <br \/>For example: If you seek an associate degree requiring 60 credits, complete the degree within 90 attempted credits.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Track your own progress<\/h3>\n<p>It is your responsibility to monitor your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Meet with an Area of Study Advisor or Counselor before you encounter difficulties that threaten your financial aid eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>You can review your SAP status on Self-Service Financial Aid or be proactive and use the online <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/gpa-calculator\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/gpa-calculator\" target=\"_blank\">GPA calculator<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/completion-rate-calculator\" target=\"_blank\">course completion calculator<\/a> to plan your academic progress.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Re-establish your eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>You can re-establish your financial aid eligibility by raising your GPA and completion rate to the minimum standards or, if appropriate, completing a Financial Aid SAP Appeal.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Aid SAP Appeal<\/h3>\n<p>Students can appeal their financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status by submitting a Financial Aid SAP Appeal. Here are some examples of circumstances in which we encourage an appeal: illness, injury, death of a relative or close friend, divorce, loss of employment, childcare issues, transportation issues, or other unforeseen events.<\/p>\n<p>Follow these steps to complete your SAP appeal:<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">1. Complete SAP Appeal Online<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Login to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.verifymyfafsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentForms<\/a>&nbsp;to access the SAP appeal online (ACCeID &amp; password required).<\/p>\n<p>On the form, you will be required to write a statement that (1) describes the circumstances that prevented you from meeting the SAP standards, (2) explains how your situation has changed, and (3) discusses the steps you are taking to help meet your academic goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>First-time users must <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/austincc.edu\/studentforms\" target=\"_blank\">create a StudentForms account<\/a> using their social security number (SSN). If you do not have an SSN, use your ACCeID with &#8220;00&#8221; in front (e.g. if your ACCeID is 1234567, use 001234567 to create your account).<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">2. Upload Supporting Documents<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Complete the required <a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.get-counseling.com\/flag-session\/19010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GetSAP<\/a> video and upload a copy of your confirmation page to <a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.verifymyfafsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentForms<\/a>. Students are required to pass \u201cA Refresher on the Impact of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)\u201d with 80 percent or higher.<\/p>\n<p>If available, you may also upload supporting documents such as a physician\u2019s statement, attorney\u2019s letter, divorce decree, restraining order, or employer letter.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All appeals must adequately describe the circumstance(s) that prevented the student from maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), provide any available supporting documentation, and explain what steps the student intends to take to maintain SAP in the future.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the comprehensive nature of the appeal process, it can take up to 30 days for a decision to be made on your appeal. Students are still responsible for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/tuition-and-payments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">paying their balance<\/a>&nbsp;with ACC while their appeal is under review. ACC also has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/tuition-and-payments\/payment-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">payment plans available<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Aid SAP Appeals cannot be retroactively approved for a semester that has ended. In order to allow sufficient time for appeal review before the semester\u2019s end, our office suggests that students submit the appeal before these dates.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall Semester &#8211; November 1<\/li>\n<li>Spring Semester &#8211; April 1<\/li>\n<li>Summer Semester &#8211; July 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students with a bachelor\u2019s degree will only be considered for student loans and will not receive grants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SAP Appeal Questions &amp; Answers<\/h2>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">I submitted my appeal. What's next?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>If approved<\/em><\/strong>, you must complete 100% of all attempted credit hours with a 2.0 grade point average each semester. Financial aid will also be limited to only those courses required to complete the approved academic program on the appeal. The Financial Aid Office also sets an expiration date for the approved appeal. On that date, you will again become ineligible for financial aid unless another appeal is approved.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If denied<\/strong><\/em>, you can still re-establish your financial aid eligibility by raising your GPA and completion rate to the minimum standards. If appropriate, you may also submit a second appeal addressing any of the committee\u2019s reasons for denial.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">What does my Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) mean?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"tablesaw-7934\" class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grade point average (GPA)<\/h3>\n<p>Include classes of the following types that were taken at ACC (not transfer classes):<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Credit classes you completed or attempted with following grades: A, B, C, D, and F<\/li>\n<li>Early College Start classes<\/li>\n<li>Study Abroad classes<\/li>\n<li>Developmental education classes<\/li>\n<li>ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes<\/li>\n<li>All grades assigned for repeated classes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DO NOT include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ACC classes you attempted with the following grades: I, IP, W, S, U, P, and NP<\/li>\n<li>Transfer classes accepted at ACC from other colleges and universities<\/li>\n<li>Audited classes<\/li>\n<li>Military credit<\/li>\n<li>Continuing Education classes<\/li>\n<li>Credit earned through examination (AP, IB and other test credit)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Completion rate<\/h3>\n<p>Include classes of the following types that were taken at ACC (not transfer classes):<\/p>\n<ul
