If you are seeking employment for the 2026-2027 school year (fall 2026-summer 2027), please fill out the 2026-2027 Interest Form below.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The College Work-Study Program provides eligible ACC students the chance to work part-time with ACC or community service partners. Due to funding, we have limited positions available for approximately 100-150 students each year.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Work Hours:<\/strong> Up to 19 hours per week, based on financial aid eligibility.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pay Rate: <\/strong>$23.00 to $24.10 per hour, depending on the position.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pay Schedule:<\/strong> Students receive their earnings as a semi-monthly paycheck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ACC Grow with Work-Study<\/h3>\n<p>As a work-study employee, you automatically benefit from the ACC GROW initiative, which provides personalized job search support, resume and interview skills training, and ongoing career coaching to all student employees at ACC. A GROW coach will be assigned to you once you secure a work-study position. For more details, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/career-services\/grow\/\">ACC GROW website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Overview<\/h2>\n<p>To qualify for work-study, students must demonstrate financial need through the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/financial-aid\/apply-for-financial-aid\/financial-aid-steps\/undocumented-student\/\">Texas Application for State Financial Aid<\/a> (TASFA) and meet the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Student Eligibility Requirements<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><br \/>\nTo qualify for work-study, students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/financial-aid\/apply-for-financial-aid\/financial-aid-steps\/\">financial aid application process<\/a> and demonstrate need based on federal guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Enroll in and maintain a minimum of six college credits each semester.<\/li>\n<li>Meet Financial Aid <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/financial-aid\/maintaining-your-financial-aid\/\">Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/a> (SAP) standards each semester.<\/li>\n<li>If offered work-study, pass a Criminal History Background Check and complete all Human Resources tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with the Work-Study Employee Guidelines below if hired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Work-study Employee Guidelines<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><br \/>\nOnce hired, students are ACC employees. They are expected to earn their award by performing job specific duties and abiding by the following guidelines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><\/strong> Remain enrolled in at least 6 credits on their declared degree plan. If enrollment drops below half-time, they must stop working immediately.<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong> Wait for clearance from the Work-Study Team before starting work.<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong>Not work more than the hours determined by the Work-Study Team (up to 19 hours per week).<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong>Not work during scheduled class or lab time.<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong>Allow reasonable gaps between class and work hours to arrive on time, including for online classes with scheduled meetings.<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong>Not work when school is not in session (e.g. intersession or college closure days due to holidays or inclement weather).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Eligibility for Some Texas Residents<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><br \/>\nSome students who noncitizens with Texas residency can apply for state grants and work-study by completing the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/financial-aid\/apply-for-financial-aid\/financial-aid-steps\/undocumented-student\/\">Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) <\/a> instead of the FAFSA. Legal work authorization in the United States and in-state tuition eligibility is required. <\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Request Work-Study<\/h2>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 1: Complete the Financial Aid Application Process<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><br \/>\nSubmit your <b>FAFSA<\/b> and any missing documents via \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/selfservice.austincc.edu\/Student\/FinancialAid\/Home\">Self-Service<\/a>.<br \/>\n<b>Note:<\/b> Some Texas residents who are noncitizens with in-state tuition AND U.S. work authorization can submit the <b>TASFA<\/b> for consideration for State Work-Study. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 2: Add Your Information to the Interest Form<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"> Fill out the Student Employment Interest Form to be considered for work-study funds for the 2026-2027 year (fall 2026-summer 2027). Note that funds are limited, and submitting this form does not guarantee a work-study offer. You may add your name <u>only once per school year<\/u>. <\/p>\n<p><button><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdhDeNeiHBlKlhZV08rjAyLtGBTp3CInSCnphV2PSad6Q4Xxw\/viewform?usp=dialog\">submit Interest Form<\/a><\/button><\/p>\n<p>(ACCmail login required. If offered work-study, please accept and attend the required <b>Student Information Session<\/b>. You will receive an email with further instructions.<br \/>\n<b>Reminder<\/b>: Work-study is not guaranteed. It may not be included in your initial financial aid offer due to limited funding. If funding becomes available later, we will use the Interest Form to offer positions to eligible students. Please monitor your ACCMail for any updates<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to Do If Offered Work-Study<\/h2>\n<p>If you are offered work-study in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/selfservice.austincc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Self-Service<\/a>, the Work-Study Team will contact you via your ACCMail account with these next steps:<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 1: Accept Your Offer and Attend the Work-Study Onboarding Training<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"> Accept your offer on <a href=\"https:\/\/selfservice.austincc.edu\/Student\/FinancialAid\/Home\">Self-Service<\/a> and attend an Information Session (required). This session will cover applying for work-study roles, interviewing, and onboarding. After attending, you will be added as a work-study employee in Handshake. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 2: Secure a Work-Study Job<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"> Complete your <a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.joinhandshake.com\/login\">Handshake<\/a> profile, upload any necessary documents, and apply for available positions. You will be notified whether or not you have been invited to interview for the position. Be sure to use your ACC Sign-On to log into the site. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 3: ACC Employee Onboarding<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"> Once you secure a position, you will receive a link to complete ACC\u2019s employee application. You will then complete the remaining onboarding steps such as the background check, Offer Letter, Human Resource documents, and direct deposit. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Step 4: Start Working<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"> The Work-Study Team will inform you and your supervisor of your official start date and maximum weekly hours. Students cannot start until all onboarding is complete. Additionally, students must complete ACC required training within the first three days of employment. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Returning Employees<\/h3>\n<p>Returning work-study employees wishing to continue must reapply using the FAFSA and Interest Form (see above). If a returning employee wants a different role, they must inform the Work-Study Team at <a href=\"mailto:workstudy@austincc.edu\">workstudy@austincc.edu<\/a> for instructions. Otherwise, returning employees who wish to remain in their same roles will be notified of their official start date.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work-Study Employers<\/h2>\n<p>The Federal College Work-Study Program and the Texas Work-Study Program provide Austin Community College with funds to hire eligible students. The college offers various on-campus and off-campus positions aimed at fostering workforce readiness, encouraging career development, and providing flexible employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Request a Work-Study Employee<\/h3>\n<p>If interested in hiring work-study students, complete the <strong>2026-2027 ACC GROW Student Employee Requisition<\/strong>. While requests can be made year-round, please aim for the following priority deadlines:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fall &amp; Spring:<\/strong> April 1<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spring Only:<\/strong> October 15 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To obtain the requisition, contact the Work-Study Team at <a href=\"mailto:workstudy@austincc.edu\">workstudy@austincc.edu<\/a>. Once the requisition is reviewed and processed, the Work-Study Team will email the next steps.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Considerations for Work-Study Employee Wages<\/h4>\n<p>Work-study positions are funded through federal and state allocations, allowing students to earn wages while gaining valuable experience. The hourly wage for work-study employees is set by the college and may vary based on the position.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ACC Departments: <\/strong>ACC departments that want to hire work-study students do not need to secure funding; the Financial Aid Office handles this through federal, state, and institutional allocations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Non-ACC Offsite Positions:<\/strong> Offsite locations seeking work-study employees should contact the Work-Study Coordinator at <a href=\"mailto:workstudy@austincc.edu\">workstudy@austincc.edu<\/a>. Offsite partners may need to pay a portion of the student\u2019s wages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training &amp; Development<\/h4>\n<p>The hiring department is responsible for training work-study students in their job duties.
