ACC\u2019s Honors Program has agreements with certain Texas universities that allow students to easily apply credit they\u2019ve earned at ACC to their university education.<\/p>\n
Credit for ACC honors courses are accepted by the Honors College at Texas State University<\/a> for up to half of the required courses. Visit the webpage for Texas State\u2019s Honors College<\/a> for detailed information about transferring credit, or email the Texas State Honors College at honors@txstate.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Admission Policy <\/strong>to the Honors Program at St. Edward\u2019s University for Students with an Associate Degree Transferring from an Honors Program at a Two-Year School<\/strong><\/p>\n Policy<\/em> Statement<\/em><\/p>\n Transfer students with an associate degree who have a GPA of 3.5 with 12 credit hours in honors coursework are guaranteed admission to the Honors Program at St. Edward\u2019s University pending admission to the university.<\/p>\n Transfer Student <\/em>Curriculum<\/em> in Honors Program<\/em><\/p>\n Students entering the Honors Program at St. Edward\u2019s University<\/a> as first-year students are required to fulfill 24 credit hours of honors coursework. Transfer students entering the program with an associate degree are required to fulfill 13 credit hours of honors coursework. Transfer students will take the following courses:<\/p>\n ACC Honors students who have a GPA of 3.25 on 24 credit hours are guaranteed admission to\u00a0Southwestern University<\/a>\u00a0in Georgetown, Texas. Southwestern will automatically grant admission upon submission and processing of an admission application and all required credentials, including a favorable College Official\u2019s Report (Conduct Report).\u00a0 For more information, go to the\u00a0Southwestern University Transfer Student Information<\/a>\u00a0webpage or contact Jake Harp at\u00a0harpj@southwestern.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Scholarships range from $17,000-$28,000 and are awarded annually. SU also awards visit scholarships of $2000 for doing an\u00a0official campus visit<\/a>\u00a0and PTK\/NSCS scholarships of $5000.\u00a0<\/p>\n ACC Honors students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above would be appealing candidates for the Honors College<\/a> at Texas Tech, with our holistic review of applicants. As you are initiating the application process<\/a>, please contact Honors.Admissions@ttu.edu<\/a> to request a waiver of the $35 application fee.<\/p>\n Upon admission to the Honors College, up to 12 semester credit-hours of ACC-approved Honors credit (with a grade of B- or higher in each class) can be transferred towards the completion of 24 Honors SCH at TTU needed to graduate with Honors.<\/p>\n ACC Honors students can be considered for recruitment scholarships offered through the Honors College, in addition to merit-based aid offered through Texas Tech, if you\u2019re applying for the fall term and submit an application prior to our annual priority application deadline (of December 1st<\/sup>).<\/p>\n The School of Honors<\/a> at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) will accept up to 12 hours of Honors transfer credits from Austin Community College\u2019s Honors Program. These credits must first be accepted by SFA\u2019s Office of Admissions<\/a>.<\/p>\n SFA offers a $1000 transfer award if the recipient\u2019s transferable GPA is 3.0 to 3.49, and the award is $2,000 per year for students with a transferable GPA of 3.50 or higher. Students do not have to apply for this scholarship.
