Current and future Austin Community College District (ACC) students can now apply for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 school year. Before applying, students should be aware of some significant changes to the form.
New changes include:
- Expanded eligibility
- More streamlined application
- Improved user experience for the form
- Expanded criteria for non-English-speaking; incarcerated; and foster, homeless, and unaccompanied youth populations
FAFSA connects students to financial aid through federal grants, work-study funds, and loans. ACC offers extra support for students to complete the form. A team with the college will work with each student directly to explore options and connect them with funds.
Things to Know
- Students are encouraged to apply early. Financial aid is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- It may take several weeks for ACC to receive and process your application. You can look for updates in your ACC email.
- Non-citizens and undocumented students with Texas residency may qualify for financial aid through the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).
- You can still apply for financial aid for this school year including fall 2023, spring 2024, and summer 2024.
- If you complete your 2024-25 FAFSA (or TASFA) by May 1, 2024, we’ll enter you in a raffle to win a gift card.
- ACC hosts speciality workshops throughout the district all month long. Find a session that works for you at austincc.edu/fafsa.
