Major gaps in mental health care persist for young adults. Austin Community College District (ACC) works to support students and provide information and resources to help. ACC’s Mental Health Counseling team hosts a Suicide Prevention Awareness Session to help promote mental health awareness.
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Date: Wednesday, April 10
Location: ACC Highland Campus, Building 1000, Social Staircase
Attendees will learn how to support their peers without judgment, discover mental health resources, identify ways to help, and meet with and learn from our ACC Mental Health counselors.
ACC offers multiple options for students seeking mental health support. At the ACC Eastview Campus, students can visit the Amplify Center. The mental health clinic provides a screening tool to determine the severity of symptoms and connect students to services and resources.
Also, students may receive support from the college’s Clinical Counseling team. ACC’s counselors continue to offer free services and programs across the district to help students foster life balance, develop personal and academic growth, and help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
