Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the emancipation of slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865 — two and a half years after the official Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln. ACC honors this special day of freedom, achievement, and reflection by welcoming the community onto our campus to learn and celebrate.

Join ACC’s 2024 Juneteenth Celebration on Tuesday, June 18, at the Eastview Campus, and invite your friends and family to participate in this important day. Hosted by the ACC’s African American Cultural Center, the communitywide Juneteenth celebration will include music, games, giveaways, and more. This event is free and open to the public.
