Austin Community College District (ACC) hosted about 25 students at the ACC Rio Grande Campus for a special hackathon workshop during Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October 2024.

In partnership with the ACC Center for Government and Civic Service, the participants worked alongside Veterans Administration professionals, engaging in real-world problem-solving to address fraud-related challenges. Over the three-day event, teams brainstormed and developed potential applications aimed at detecting and countering fraud in federal systems.

The hackathon offered students a unique opportunity to gain insights into federal government operations and cybersecurity.
