The Great Questions Seminar program at Austin Community College District (ACC) offers a unique, discussion-based alternative to the traditional EDUC 1300 Student Success course. Supported by a Teagle Foundation grant, the seminar replaces standard textbooks with transformative texts that spark engaging conversations.
The Teagle Foundation came to ACC Highland Campus for Cornerstone: Learning for a Living in October. The conference explored the Great Questions Seminar model for two- and four-year colleges, highlighting the role of community colleges in advancing the liberal arts and encouraging more to join the initiative.
ACC’s Community Seminars invite students, faculty, staff, and community members to explore life’s big questions through small group discussions on selected texts, followed by a shared reflection session.
