ACC Hosts Early Voting Events, Encourages Community to Get Involved - Student Infohub

Tuesday, November 5, is Election Day! ACC held a series of opportunities to engage students, employees, and the community to cast their ballots early this election.

The College hosted five Parades to the Polls. The events featured free food, drinks, and music, including a spirited marching band. Students, staff, and community members got together to walk to nearby polling locations for early voting.

The College also hosted a free concert for students featuring rising artist Jessie Murph as part of the National Community College Concert Competition. The nonpartisan Community College Concert Competition was created by Levi’s® and SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios (MTV) in partnership with the Students Learn Students Vote (SLSV) Coalition, the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN), and Good Trouble Collaborative.

The Highland Campus Parade to the Polls on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, kicked off with a short musical performance by a marching band.
The parade was part of series of events hosted by ACC to help the community get involved the upcoming election.
The event brought together students, employees and the community.
The participants enjoyed free food, drinks and music before walking together to a nearby polling location.
The Rio Grande CampusParade to the Polls took place on Monday, October 28, 2024.
A local band led the way to the nearest polling station.
The parade to the polls passed by the brand new mural painted on the side of the Rio Grande parking garage. The artwork was funded by Levi Strauss & Co. as part of the Community College Coalition,
Parades to the Polls continued through early voting, which ran from October 21 to November 1. Additional events took place at Cypress Creek, Riverside, and Eastview.
ACC was selected out of 150 colleges nationwide to host a free concert for its exceptional efforts to engage students in the voting process as part of the Community College Concert Competition

ACC Student Government Association (SGA) representatives spoke to the crowd gathered for the concert emphasizing the importance of civic engagement through voting participation.
Hundreds of students, employees, and their guests filed into ACL Live at the Moody Theater on October 24 to hear rising artist Jessie Murph.
