Get ready for a night under the stars! Austin Community College District (ACC) invites students, families, and the Central Texas community to its Spring Public Star Party on Friday, April 11, at the Riverside Campus.

Date: Friday, April 11
Time: Event begins at 7 p.m.
Where: ACC Riverside Campus

“This is a great opportunity to explore the cosmos right here in Austin,” says Dr. Michael Endl, ACC Astronomy faculty. “Whether you’re a student or just curious about the stars, our Star Party is a fun and educational experience for all ages.”

Telescopes and binoculars will be set up in a designated open area, where attendees will get an up-close look at the moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and even their moons. If the skies are clear, you might catch a glimpse of the Orion Nebula, distant star clusters, and the Andromeda Galaxy.

Astronomy faculty and staff will be on hand to guide attendees through the night sky and explain what they’re seeing. The event begins with a brief introduction to the telescopes, followed by live viewing and expert commentary.

This event is free and open to the public. Keep track of event updates, including any cancellation notice that may occur due to inclement weather, at this link.
