Austin Community College District (ACC) students are invited to participate in RiverHacks. The two-day hackathon brings together students, developers, designers, and community-minded problem-solvers to build tech-driven solutions that tackle real-world civic challenges.
Dates: Saturday, April 26 – Sunday, April 27
Time: 9 a.m. on April 26 through 5 p.m. on April 27
Location: Center for Government and Civic Service (CGCS), ACC Rio Grande Campus
What: Participants are empowered to imagine and create tools that strengthen communities, improve access to public services, and support local impact.
This year’s theme, Civic Innovation, is done in partnership with the City of Austin and aligns with Public Safety and Mobility & Critical Infrastructure priorities. Teams will develop solutions that make a tangible difference in how the city approaches critical issues such as public safety, transportation access, and emergency response.
Winning projects may be selected for further development with the City of Austin to help move their strategic goals forward.
Participation is free. Meals, snacks, and swag will be provided. Students can register individually or as a team. If you can’t participate in person, you’re still encouraged to check out the final presentations and follow along online.
