​April is Autism Acceptance Month, a time dedicated to celebrating and honoring the experiences and identities of autistic individuals. Austin Community College District (ACC) joins the national month of recognition to highlight understanding, inclusion, and support, moving beyond awareness towards meaningful acceptance.

Dozens turned out Friday, April 11, for the College’s Autism Acceptance Month Event at the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Center. The engaging and inclusive event explored neurodiversity through art, discussion, and community connection. 

NeuroBats of ACCess Autism –– a student-led organization by and for neurodivergent students dedicated to build social cognition skills, host social outings, and offer peer mentoring.  hosts several events throughout April in honor of the month.
