Austin Community College District (ACC) is moving forward with plans to expand its Hays Campus. The project is officially in the design phase.

The expansion will bring a new academic building to the campus focused on high-demand Health Sciences programs, including Nursing, Dental Hygiene, and Sonography. Once complete, the facility will support enrollment growth of up to 1,000 additional students.

Over the past several months, the College collaborated with faculty, staff, local employers, healthcare providers, and community partners to identify regional workforce needs. That input shaped the programming phase, which was completed and approved in early summer.

The project also features campus improvements, including a redesigned driveway, expanded parking, enhanced landscaping, and a new Central Utility Plant to serve the campus. The building will be constructed to meet LEED Silver certification standards for sustainability.
