Austin Community College District (ACC) expands its support for students with the launch of the Providing Access To Holistic Supports (PATHS) program. This new partnership with Communities In Schools (CIS) of Central Texas is the first of its kind.
“Students can’t succeed if they’re left to navigate barriers alone,” said ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart. “This partnership with CIS ensures students have the support they need to not just get to college, but through college.”
The PATHS program will serve 180 ACC students facing some of the toughest barriers to higher education, like housing insecurity, homelessness, or parental incarceration. Students in the program will have access to case management, mentorship, and holistic resources at the Highland, Riverside, and Hays campuses.
This partnership continues ACC’s commitment to supporting the whole student, from basic needs like food, housing, and transportation to mental health and child care.
CIS and ACC developed the PATHS program to create support for students—removing barriers and creating a seamless transition from high school to college—with funding from the Greater Texas Foundation and the Sooch Foundation.

While PATHS isn’t open to all students, help is available for everyone at ACC. If you need support, connect with a Student Advocate. They’ll work with you to identify your needs and get you connected to the right resources.
