Austin Community College District (ACC) issues an urgent security warning regarding a new phishing campaign targeting students.

An official-looking email is being sent to students that uses the ACC logo and claims the district is “Upgrading Our Security Measure” by “implementing 2-step Verification (2SV).”

The image you are seeing (similar to the one below) is a fake designed to steal your account credentials and personal data. ACC did not send this email and it is a phishing attempt.

If you received the email, please report it as phishing and delete it. Do not click on any links or scan the QR Codes.

Please remember:

  • ACC will never ask you to scan a random QR code in an email to verify or secure your account.
  • ACC will never request your mobile number in this manner to complete a security process.

If you receive this or any suspicious email, please follow these steps:

  1. DO NOT click any links or scan any QR codes.
  2. DO NOT reply to the message.
  3. DO NOT provide any personal or account information.

What To Do If You Find This Email:

If you scanned the code or entered any information, please change your ACC password immediately.

If you have any questions or need to report this specific scam, please contact the Student Affairs Help Desk at [email protected] or call 512-223-4636.
