Austin Community College District (ACC) expands access to higher education in Lockhart. This spring, students will see additional course offerings at Lockhart High School and in the historic Ford Building.
The new education and training center located in downtown Lockhart will begin offering hands-on workforce programs early in the spring. The facility will provide specialized classroom and hands-on training spaces for college and career programs. Residents will have the chance to explore the new space during an open house planned for late January.
More weekend and evening classes for general education courses, including English, Science, and Math will be offered at Lockhart High School to fit into your schedule.
The expansion follows Lockhart ISD’s decision to join the ACC taxing district last year, opening the door to more affordable college pathways for local residents.
High school classes of 2024 and 2025 can enroll to receive Free Tuition Pilot Program benefits. The pilot program is currently approved through the class of 2028.
Spring registration is now open, and Lockhart residents are encouraged to explore available courses in their area at austincc.edu/lockhart.
