Austin Community College will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In honor of the day, ACC will participate in an event to honor Dr. King’s life and contributions. The event is free and open to the public.
Austin MLK Day March | 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The annual community march celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy. Participants will gather at the Martin Luther King Jr. Statue at The University of Texas for a short program, followed by a march to the Texas State Capitol. Afterward, festivities will continue at Huston-Tillotson University, featuring food, music, and local vendors.
Additionally, the Truth, Community Healing & Transformation Center (TCHT) hosts a celebratory reception honoring Dr. King. This will be Wednesday, January 14, beginning at noon at the TCHT Center at ACC Highland Campus, building 4000.
Registration for spring classes remains open through the weekend. The spring semester begins Tuesday, January 20.
