During National Police Week, May 10–16, ACC recognizes the officers dedicated to creating safe, welcoming environments where students can focus on learning and success.

“We are committed to the safety and security of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors across the College,” says ACC District Police Chief Gizette Disher. “Our officers work every day to build relationships, preserve peace, and ensure every member of the ACC community feels respected, supported, and safe.”

ACC Police officers do more than respond to emergencies. They help students during difficult situations, provide crisis support, assist with safety concerns, and work to create welcoming campus environments where students can focus on their goals.

Over the past year, ACCPD officers completed dozens of advanced training programs in areas including de-escalation, active shooter response, mental health response, and crisis intervention to better support the ACC community.

The ACC Police Department also regularly connects with students through campus events, outreach activities, and safety resources available across ACC campuses.
