September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and Austin Community College District (ACC) invites you to take part in an important conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.
Join ACC Friday, September 18, from 1:30–3 p.m. for It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health, a program from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The session will feature guest speaker Laura Hernandez-Gold from the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health at The University of Texas at Austin.
The program focuses on mental health challenges commonly experienced by college students and uses real stories and experiences to help students recognize when they or someone they know may be struggling, understand mental health treatment options, and feel more comfortable reaching out for support.
