Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Dental Hygiene Program celebrates an exceptional achievement from its Class of 2024 graduates. All 17 students who graduated in May achieved a 100% on-time completion rate and 100% pass rate on both the national written board exam and the regional clinical board exam!

We remain committed to fostering a supportive and challenging educational environment to ensure we are creating students with high standards of patient care,” says Michelle Landrum, Dental Hygiene Department Chair. “The achievements of the Class of 2024 serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, faculty, and staff, and they set a high benchmark for future cohorts.”

Outstanding Outcomes

  • On-Time Completion: All 17 students graduated on schedule, reflecting the program’s commitment to student success and rigorous preparation.
  • National Board Performance: ACC graduates demonstrated a 100% year-end pass rate on the written National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, with a 94% passing on their first attempt. The cohort’s performance ranked in the 97th percentile nationwide compared to other dental hygiene programs, including those at the bachelor’s degree level.
  • Clinical Board Exam Excellence: The students also achieved a 100% pass rate on the clinical regional board exam, with an average score of 96%, underscoring their readiness to enter the professional workforce.
