Austin Community College District (ACC) hosted its first Summit of Future Makers, bringing together leaders in tech, education, and workforce training to talk about what’s next—and what it means for students.

Hosted by ACC’s Office for the Future, April 30 – May 1, 2026, the two-day summit focused on the theme “Creating the Future: From Insight to Impact” and how colleges can better prepare students for fast-changing careers, including those shaped by AI and new technologies.

The Summit is part of ACC’s continued work to create faster, more flexible pathways into in-demand careers—so you can build skills that match where jobs are headed.

Sessions explored how to:

  • Prepare for careers that are still emerging
  • Use new tech like AI in learning
  • Connect education  directly to real jobs

The summit brought in speakers and organizations from across the country, highlighting ACC’s growing role in shaping the future of community college education.

The Summit of Future Makers was the catalyst for a broader movement. As community colleges continue to build a workforce ready for what comes next, ACC is looking forward to growing this community.
