Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Veterinary Technology Program has cats and dogs looking for loving homes. Through the program, students provide hands-on veterinary care and training to help prepare each pet for adoption while gaining real-world experience in animal health care.

How to Adopt

  1. See Available Pets

View available pets at austincc.edu/pets.

  1. Schedule a Visit

Fill out the interest form, and one of the Vet Tech Program Staff members will contact you to schedule a visit

  1. Meet the Pets

Spend time with the available cats and dogs to find the right fit for your family and lifestyle.

  1. Complete an Application

Submit an adoption application and pay a small adoption fee that helps offset the cost of care.

  1. Welcome Them Home

Pets are ready to go home at the end of the academic semester after completing their veterinary care and training.

The animals come from local and rural shelters throughout Central Texas. Adoptions not only free up space at local shelters to care for more animals, but also give ACC Veterinary Technology students invaluable real-world clinical experience before they enter the workforce.
