Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of events and conversations. Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15 and recognizes the culture and influence of Hispanic Americans throughout history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Events include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fiesta Patrias at Austin Community College District<\/strong> Cafecito con Samuel Echeverria Cruz: Puerto Rico<\/strong> Cine at El Centro 2: The Last American Colony<\/strong> Mi Sangre: A Conversation with Roj Rodriguez<\/strong> All events are free and open to the community. Hispanic Heritage Month events are sponsored by the college\u2019s El Centro\/Latin American Cultural Center (LACC) along with Ascender; Student Life; LatinX Student Union (LXSU); Honors Student Organization (HSO); The Art Galleries (TAG); and the ACC Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ACC Riverside Campus is home to the Latin American Cultural Center, also known as El Centro. El Centro serves as a space for community and cultural celebration. The expanded center reopened in April and features a film screening space, gathering area, and specialty library with the rare Tijerina Book Collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
