The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is one of the most important tests a nursing student can take because passage of the exam determines if it’s safe to begin practice as a nurse. Austin Community College District (ACC) is proud to share graduates from both its Associate Degree of Nursing (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) programs achieved some of the best pass rates in the nation on the exam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NCLEX Pass rates for students from ACC\u2019s LVN program had a first-time test-taker pass rate of 98% in 2023. That is up 6.6% from the previous year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Graduates from ACC\u2019s RN program achieved a 92.41% pass rate, up 11.4% from its 2022 NCLEX-RN first-time test taker pass rate \u2013\u2013 consistently exceeding state and national averages<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDuring the pandemic, we saw some major obstacles to overcome. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the commitment and dedication of the faculty and staff to student success and the hard work of our amazing students in both programs,\u201d says Dr. Nina Almasy, ACC dean of Health Sciences. \u201cI am so proud of the work ACC\u2019s Nursing Department achieved to prepare our students for this exam.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are multiple nursing pathways at ACC. Students can start with an entry-level certificate to become a certified nurse aide <\/strong>and continue on to earn an advanced certificate in vocational nursing<\/a> <\/strong>or associate degree in professional nursing<\/strong><\/a> to become a registered nurse (RN).
