Austin Community College District (ACC) Service-Learning Program, in collaboration with Interfaith Action of Central Texas, invites you to attend\u00a0The Red Bench Dialogue Event<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>on Tuesday, March 26 at the ACC Eastview Campus. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spring 2024 topic is \u201cWorking through Conflict.\u201d In this conversation event, we will work with Interfaith Action of Central Texas to discuss our experiences with conflict and practice listening in ways that encourage mutual understanding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner will be provided. Registration is required.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACC\u2019s Center for Peace and Conflict Studies program notes, \u201cConflict is a natural part of every relationship that can be either a destructive force or a stimulus for creating constructive change. We can learn how to respond in ways that maximize conflict\u2019s potential for positive change.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Shirin Catterson Khosropour, ACC\u2019s founder and director of the Center for Peace & Conflict Studies and a professor of Psychology, will frame this issue for participants, who will then be invited to share their own experiences through empathetic and structured table conversations hosted by trained ACC Social Psychology and Peace and Conflict Studies students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About The Red Bench<\/strong>
Interfaith Action of Central Texas describes the Red Bench as \u201can ongoing dialogue program designed to address one of the most pressing needs of our time: improving interfaith understanding and civil discourse in our society.\u201d Trained ACC Social Psychology and Peace and Conflict Studies students host respectful table conversations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
