Members of the ACC community can now reserve their appointments! The tax site officially opens on Tuesday, February 4.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program provides free, professional tax prep services for moderate- to low-income individuals and families while offering real-world job training for ACC students. The Prosper Tax Help site will operate at the ACCelerator at the Highland Campus. It will be open most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during tax season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prosper Tax Help site addresses critical financial challenges for local families. Many households miss out on the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a vital financial support for working families, while others face barriers to navigating tax systems and accessing refunds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By combining expert guidance from Foundation Communities and support from trained ACC students, the program helps clients maximize refunds and fosters a deeper connection with the ACC community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Services Offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Claim your household\u2019s maximum 2024 tax refund<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>File prior-year tax returns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respond to IRS letters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During its first year, ACC\u2019s Prosper Tax Help site prepared 421 tax returns, surpassing its goal of 250 and helped taxpayers secure more than $616,000 in refunds. This year, the program aims to expand its reach and strengthen the connection between ACC and local families. Last year, the Prosper Tax Center employed 11 ACC students.
