Disability Pride Month, observed annually in July, is the opportunity to celebrate the diversity, strength, and achievements of people with disabilities. Austin Community College District (ACC) will commemorate the month by highlighting resources and community events designed to honor the unique perspectives and contributions of individuals with disabilities. Disability Pride Month Events Throughout the ATX Community<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

University of Texas\u2019 Adapted\/Wheelchair Tennis & Pickleball
Date:<\/strong> Every Monday in July
Time:<\/strong> 6:30 \u2013 8:30 p.m.
Location:<\/strong> Whitaker Courts (Courts 9 and 10), 200 W 51st St., Austin, TX
What: <\/strong>UT\u2019s Disability Cultural Center, in partnership with Austin Adapted Sports and RecSports, hosts weekly tennis and pickleball nights for players with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Texas\u2019 Disability in the News \u2013 Weekly Zoom Discussion
Date:<\/strong> Every Tuesday in July
Time:<\/strong> 12 \u2013 1 p.m.
Location: <\/strong>Virtual via Zoom
What: <\/strong>Hosted by UT\u2019s Disability Cultural Center, this inclusive virtual conversation space explores current events related to disability, from viral media to policy updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disability Dialogues Book Club<\/strong>

ACC Student-Run Organizations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

NeuroBats of ACCess Autism<\/strong><\/a>: <\/strong>ACC organization led by and for ACC neurodivergent students. The group works to break down stigmas and build a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Active Minds<\/strong><\/a>: <\/strong>Active Minds is a welcoming and inclusive student organization that understands the significance of mental health in our lives. They are dedicated to promoting mental well-being, fostering a sense of community, and providing a safe and empathetic space for individuals to share their experiences, seek support, and access resources to enhance their mental health journey. Their mission is to break the stigma surrounding mental health and empower individuals to lead healthier, happier lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 ACC Disability Pride Month Activity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Student Accessibility Services Whiteboard Mural<\/strong>
To celebrate Disability Pride Month, ACC\u2019s Student Accessibility Services (SAS)<\/strong><\/a> invites students to contribute to an interactive whiteboard mural at Round Rock Campus (Room 2107). This reflective activity prompts students to respond to: \u201cWhat makes you feel seen and supported as a person with a disability?\u201d The mural is designed to foster visibility, expression, and connection throughout the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 ACC Disability Pride Month Resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ACC libraries developed a virtual display that features Disability Pride Month and offers resources designed to educate, inspire, and support. You can explore a wide array of books, e-books, movies, and videos that highlight the experiences and achievements of individuals with disabilities here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
