This new partnership with Communities In Schools (CIS) of Central Texas is the first of its kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStudents can\u2019t succeed if they\u2019re left to navigate barriers alone,\u201d said ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart. \u201cThis partnership with CIS ensures students have the support they need to not just get to college, but through college.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PATHS program will serve 180 ACC students facing some of the toughest barriers to higher education, like housing insecurity, homelessness, or parental incarceration. Students in the program will have access to case management, mentorship, and holistic resources at the Highland, Riverside, and Hays campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This partnership continues ACC\u2019s commitment to supporting the whole student, from basic needs like food, housing, and transportation to mental health and child care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CIS and ACC developed the PATHS program to create support for students\u2014removing barriers and creating a seamless transition from high school to college\u2014with funding from the Greater Texas Foundation and the Sooch Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about the PATHS program, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/austincc.edu\/paths\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">austincc.edu\/paths<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While PATHS isn\u2019t open to all students, help is available for everyone at ACC.
