More than 100 students, employees, and community members came together at Austin Community College District\u2019s (ACC) Highland Campus on Wednesday, September 17, for Constitution Day 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants engaged in lively, thoughtful conversations on the question \u201cWhat is an American?\u201d Small-group discussions, led by ACC students and faculty, drew from U.S. foundational documents and voices such as Frederick Douglass, Barbara Jordan, and Gloria Anzald\u00faa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening also featured reflections from ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart and local lawmakers, who joined the conversations and shared what they learned from hearing directly from students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was inspired by ACC\u2019s Great Questions Community Seminar<\/a>. which invites students and the community to connect with classic texts and one another in dialogue. Attendees were encouraged to continue engaging with Great Questions events throughout the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
