Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates our Honors students who continue to raise the bar through research, scholarship, and academic achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six ACC Honors Program students have been accepted into Texas State University\u2019s Opportunities for Undergraduate Research in Human Development & Family Sciences (OUR HDFS) Fellowship Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This prestigious 25-week National Science Foundation\u2013supported fellowship pairs students with faculty and graduate mentors, immersing them in hands-on research, professional exploration, and graduate-school preparation. Participants also receive a stipend and travel support as part of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Honors Math major Charles \u201cChuck\u201d Martin III will take the national stage in January 2026 at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in Washington, D.C. \u2014 the largest mathematics conference in the world. Chuck will present his research on the role of mathematics and science in early to modern photography, showcasing the power of interdisciplinary inquiry.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The ACC Honors Program provides curious, highly motivated students with the opportunity to join a diverse learning community dedicated to deep intellectual engagement. Honors students take an active role in their scholarly development by exploring topics of societal and global significance through discussion, research, independent inquiry, creative scholarship, and experiential learning \u2014 all in a supportive, inclusive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who complete Honors courses gain a competitive edge in the transfer process to four-year colleges and universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
