Austin Community College District supports you through its partnership with Foundation Communities to bring free, trusted tax preparation back to the Highland Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting Tuesday, February 3, 2026, you can get help filing your taxes at the Prosper Tax Center at the ACC Highland Campus ACCelerator. Services are provided through the IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which helps eligible individuals file accurately and receive the maximum refund they\u2019re entitled to at no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the Prosper Tax Center at ACC helped hundreds of community members file their taxes. The impact was significant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>368 tax returns prepared at the ACC site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>76% of taxpayers received refunds, totaling more than $564,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The average refund was $1,561<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Is Eligible?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All eligible faculty, staff, and students are invited to take advantage of this resource. You generally qualify for free tax help if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Individuals: <\/strong>You earn less than $60,000\/year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Households (2-4 people): <\/strong>You earn less than $85,000\/year.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Note: <\/strong>The eligibility limit increases by $5,000 for each additional family member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Location &amp; Hours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The center is located at the ACC Highland Campus ACCelerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> Tuesday, February 3 \u2013 Tuesday, April 14, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Days:<\/strong> Open most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prosper Tax Help Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tax services are performed by trained tax preparers. Claim your household\u2019s maximum 2025 tax refund<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>File prior year tax returns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get help responding to IRS letters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>View the full list of services at the <a href=\"https:\/\/foundcom.org\/austin-tax-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Prosper Tax Help website.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Book Your Appointment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While the center opens in February, the appointments are now open.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointments fill up quickly! We strongly encourage you to schedule your appointment as early as possible to secure your spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/business-community\/prosper-tax-help-at-acc-highland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Learn More and Schedule Your Appointment Here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site is also staffed by ACC students, giving them paid, real-world experience.
