{"id":52333,"date":"2026-05-08T16:16:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T21:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/infohub\/?p=52333"},"modified":"2026-05-08T16:16:48","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T21:16:48","slug":"acc-hosts-summit-on-the-future-of-jobs-and-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/infohub\/2026\/05\/08\/acc-hosts-summit-on-the-future-of-jobs-and-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC Hosts Summit on the Future of Jobs and Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) hosted its first <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/alliance-of-future-makers\/summit-of-future-makers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Summit of Future Makers<\/strong><\/a>, bringing together leaders in tech, education, and workforce training to talk about what\u2019s next\u2014and what it means for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosted by<a href=\"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/futurist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <strong>ACC\u2019s Office for the Future<\/strong><\/a>, April 30 \u2013 May 1, 2026, the two-day summit focused on the theme \u201cCreating the Future: From Insight to Impact\u201d and how colleges can better prepare students for fast-changing careers, including those shaped by AI and new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Summit is part of ACC\u2019s continued work to create faster, more flexible pathways into in-demand careers\u2014so you can build skills that match where jobs are headed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sessions explored how to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare for careers that are still emerging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use new tech like AI in learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect education\u00a0 directly to real jobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The summit brought in speakers and organizations from across the country, highlighting ACC\u2019s growing role in shaping the future of community college education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Summit of Future Makers was the catalyst for a broader movement.
