{"id":2716,"date":"2018-10-04T19:27:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-04T19:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/money\/?p=2716"},"modified":"2018-10-04T19:27:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-04T19:27:00","slug":"fafsa-2019-2020-is-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/money\/smmo-blog\/fafsa-2019-2020-is-live\/","title":{"rendered":"FAFSA 2019\/2020 is LIVE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello ACC students!<\/p>\n<p>The new FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) 2019\/2020 went live on October 1st, and we need you to complete it!<\/p>\n<p>Why should you complete the FAFSA?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opportunity for grants<\/li>\n<li>Student loan eligibility<\/li>\n<li>Scholarships at ACC often ask you have your FAFSA on file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even if you don&#8217;t think you qualify for aid, you should still fill it out because it is\u00a0<strong>free<\/strong> and you are not losing anything by doing it!<\/p>\n<p>Remember that the funds from FAFSA are on a <em><strong>first come first serve basis<\/strong><\/em>. This is why it is so important you complete your FAFSA as soon as it is available so you can get your place at the front of the line.<\/p>\n<p>Use your\u00a0(or your parents\/guardians) <strong>2017<\/strong>\u00a0tax returns to complete the 2019\/2020 FAFSA.<\/p>\n<p>Want some help filling out your application? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/financial-aid\/maintain-your-financial-aid\/financial-aid-workshops\">You can go to your campus&#8217; Financial Aid office.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may also complete it on your own at <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.ed.gov\/sa\/fafsa\">FAFSA.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you want us to help you fill out your FAFSA, request a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/money\/financial-coaching\/\">financial coaching session<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello ACC students!
