I was grieving a lot and I still am but I think I’m managing it better. I like to journal. I go through the feels. I feel guilty a lot because I’m so comfortable while so many people aren’t. I’ve learned to recognize how comfortable I am and accept that I got here because I made good choices. I’m worthy of this strange vacation even though it still kind of feels wrong saying vacation. Especially with the state of the world. Things could actually get much much worse, so I’m personally just trying to take in all of the good I can while I can.”

Especially during this time, it’s important to understand that it’s okay to do things that make you feel happy and to relieve that stress. You don’t have to feel guilty for taking care of yourself even with all that’s going on in the world. The most important thing to understand is you can’t help others until you’re in a healthy state of mind. I encourage you to practice self care and to take advantage of this quarantine to do things to help you through this pandemic. Whether that means you’re watching your favorite tv show on the couch or getting a home workout in, you decide how to spend your time. It’s a process that everyone is going through, so remember you’re not alone in the struggle to adapt to a new “normal.”

If you’re struggling with all the feels of this pandemic, it may help to talk with someone.
