Students may request accommodations at any time during the semester. Students seeking academic accommodations are asked to submit appropriate documentation of their disability.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disability Examples (but not limited to):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\n    <strong>Learning\/ Neurodiversity<\/strong><br \/>\n    <span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, intellectual disabilities, other health impairment<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Sensory<\/strong><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Deafness, Hard of Hearing, Blindness, Hearing and visual disabilities<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/student-accessibility-services\/deaf-or-blind-students\/\"><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Tuition Waiver\/Exemption Information<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Mental Health<\/strong><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, PTSD,&nbsp; mood disorders<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Physical\/Medical<\/strong><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Mobility, orthopedic, chronic health conditions, autoimmune and <\/span><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Central Nervous System disorders, diabetes, or other health related conditions\/symptoms\/diagnoses <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Temporary Disabilities<\/strong><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">Students with short-term physical injuries or conditions may be eligible for <\/span><br \/><span style=\"padding-left: 50px\">temporary accommodations to help minimize disruption and support continued enrollment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Documentation Can I Submit?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Types of documentation may include, but is not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Records from K-12 such as, IEP, ARD, FIE, 504 plans<\/li>\n<li>Psychoeducational, neuropsychology, psychosocial evaluations <\/li>\n<li>Audiological report, audiogram<\/li>\n<li>Documentation from a therapist, primary care physician, nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, <br \/>or other qualified medical\/health professional<\/li>\n<li><strong>VETERANS: <\/strong>Rating letters that include a diagnosis&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Doctor visit summaries from a patient portal<\/li>\n<li>Other diagnostic information from an official source<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s helpful if documentation explains how the disability affects daily life or academic performance, including specific barriers and, if applicable, the impact of medication.&nbsp; If you are unsure if your documentation meets the requirements, we encourage you to submit it anyway. SAS will reach out if more information is needed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>No Documentation? Don\u2019t Worry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you do not have documentation, SAS staff can review various sources of information \u2014 including your self-report \u2014 to discuss your accommodation request. Please indicate that you do not have documentation on the SAS application.<\/p>\n<p>We understand that some students may not have a formal diagnosis or may be unable to obtain documentation. Our goal is to learn about your experiences and determine how we can support you.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Meeting with SAS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>After the application is submitted, students will meet with our office to discuss support options.
