Here is what you need to do to get your semester off to a successful start!<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Request Accommodations<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Accommodations must be requested each semester and can be requested at any time during the semester, however, SAS strongly encourages you to request them at the beginning of the semester.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to request additional accommodations during the semester, please contact SAS as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accommodations are not retroactive so we encourage you to request your letters whether you think you will need them or not.<\/li>\n<li>Accommodations do not go into effect until your instructor receives your letter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please request your classroom accommodations every semester through AIM by clicking on <a href=\"https:\/\/hunter.accessiblelearning.com\/AustinCC\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/hunter.accessiblelearning.com\/AustinCC\/\">this link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For a step-by-step of the accommodation request process, please review&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/app.tango.us\/app\/workflow\/How-to-Request-Accommodations-in-AIM-86d77a09b9304bb9a0df5a87e1d493a9\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/app.tango.us\/app\/workflow\/How-to-Request-Accommodations-in-AIM-86d77a09b9304bb9a0df5a87e1d493a9\">this tutorial<\/a> we created for you!<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Accommodations Determinations<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Students have a right to request the accommodations they believe they may need, however, there are times when SAS has to deny the requested accommodation.<\/p>\n<p>Accommodations may be denied because:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The request would alter an essential requirement of the course.<\/li>\n<li>The information gathered during the interactive process does not support the request.<\/li>\n<li>The request is not reasonable or appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>The requested accommodation would give the student an unfair advantage over other students.<\/li>\n<li>The documentation provided does not support the request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Accommodated Testing<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Before you can schedule a testing appointment, make sure that you have given your accommodation letter to your instructor and have reminded them that you will be testing with your accommodations.<\/p>\n<p>If you have been approved for any of the following accommodations, your test\/quiz must be scheduled at least five business days in advance in order for you to test.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kurzweil\/Text to speech, or other screen reader<\/li>\n<li>Access assistant (reader\/scribe)<\/li>\n<li>Your test or quiz is timed<\/li>\n<li>Magnifiers (CCTV, JAWS, MAGIC, Zoom Text, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Enlarged font, alternative format for printed exams<\/li>\n<li>Use of Speech Recognition software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/student-accessibility-services\/testing-accommodations\/\">Testing Accommodations<\/a> page for more information and to schedule your tests.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome Back!
