Once the letter is received by the instructor, it should be determined how testing accommodations will be provided for the course. <em>If instructors cannot accommodate a student in a classroom or a departmental setting<\/em>,&nbsp;please read about Testing Options.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Consider the following testing requirements:<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review the course syllabus for test information (i.e. test format, test proctoring, time, important dates).<\/li>\n<li>Once you have requested accommodations and your professor receives your Faculty Notification Letter, please take the time to discuss your testing accommodations with your professor to determine your testing location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"On-campus-testing\">On-Campus Testing (Campus Testing Centers)<\/h3>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Campus testing centers provide proctoring services for in-person classes<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>If any of the following scenarios apply to your course testing, you do NOT need to schedule an appointment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The instructor can accommodate in class and\/or during office hours.<\/li>\n<li>The class does not have any exams and\/or they are take-home assessments.<\/li>\n<li>The class is project-based without testing.<\/li>\n<li>The assessments for the lab course has equipment that cannot be transferred to another room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Equipped with assistive technology and testing space, testing centers can proctor accommodated exams during their<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.austincc.edu\/tsi-assessment\/assessment-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;hours of operation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">When an instructor and student agree to have accommodated testing at a campus testing center, testing is coordinated in AIM. <mark style=\"background-color:#fcb900\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Students submit exam requests 5 business days before an exam<\/strong><\/mark>, and <strong>faculty must provide the necessary testing information 2 days before the exam date<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"online-testing\">Online Testing<\/h3>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">SAS Virtual Proctoring is intended for Distance Learning courses. <\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>If any of the scenarios apply to your course, you do NOT need to schedule an appointment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The class does not require proctoring for exams.<\/li>\n<li>Exams are not timed.<\/li>\n<li>The instructor is using AI for proctoring (e.g. Respondus LockDown Browser, Respondus Monitor), and accommodations are compatible with Respondus software.<\/li>\n<li>The entire class is being proctored by the instructor. The instructor can stay online to accommodate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The SAS Department provides an online virtual proctoring service for students with accommodations in distance learning courses. <mark style=\"background-color:#fcb900\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Appointments can be made via AIM.<\/mark> Students must submit their requests in advance, and professors must complete the testing information before students&#8217; appointments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">For online exams with SAS Virtual Proctoring, students need the following:<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Windows or Mac PC\/laptop or Chromebook<\/li>\n<li>A functioning Webcam, which must remain on at all times during the exam<\/li>\n<li>Microphone for laptop<\/li>\n<li>Valid photo ID; ACC student ID preferred (driver\u2019s license; state, military, passport, or other government forms of ID are valid along with an ACC student ID number)<\/li>\n<li>Permitted testing materials, per the professor\u2019s instructions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to expect&nbsp;during an online exam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Half an hour (30 minutes) before a scheduled test, students receive an email from&nbsp;<strong>sastest@austincc.edu<\/strong>&nbsp;with a link for the proctoring session and the proctor\u2019s name.<\/li>\n<li>The proctor will ask the student to present a photo ID, survey the testing area, and demonstrate that there are no cell phones and that students are only allowed authorized testing materials.<\/li>\n<li>Student must share their screen with the proctor(s); refusal will end the test session immediately.<\/li>\n<li>The testing sessions are recorded and can be submitted to the professor for review upon request (please email&nbsp;<strong>sastest@austincc.edu<\/strong>&nbsp;for a copy).<\/li>\n<li>Students with approved breaks as an accommodation must notify the proctor when they need a break; breaks cannot exceed the given time limit, and the clock does not stop during breaks.<\/li>\n<li>Students must submit their test when the time expires even if the exam is not complete. Refusal to do so is reported to the professor.<\/li>\n<li>Any suspicious activity may result in the termination of a test session and will be reported.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-right is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-765c4724 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"#top\">Back to top<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Faculty\"><strong>Faculty- Using the Alternative Testing Module in AIM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>AIM Version 5 Testing for professors is one form split into two: the <strong>Alternative Testing Agreement Form<\/strong> and <strong>Exam Dates.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Alternative Testing Agreement Form<\/strong> initiates testing in AIM for the professor and students.&nbsp;<br \/><strong>Exam Dates <\/strong>allows the professor to submit specific exam dates, testing details, and documents.
