{"id":13,"date":"2022-07-12T20:41:42","date_gmt":"2022-07-12T20:41:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/study-abroad\/?page_id=13"},"modified":"2026-09-14T19:15:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T19:15:53","slug":"acc-study-abroad-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/study-abroad\/acc-study-abroad-scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC Study Abroad Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Board of Trustees&#8217; Study Abroad Scholarship<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACC International Programs will award <strong>fifty $1,000<\/strong> <strong>scholarships<\/strong> to support current ACC students participating in an ACC faculty-led study abroad program.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible, you must:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a <strong>minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0<\/strong> at ACC by the application deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Have completed at least <strong>3 credit hours<\/strong> at ACC in the <strong>fall semester<\/strong> prior to the study abroad program.<\/li>\n<li>Have completed and passed a minimum of <strong>12<\/strong> <strong>hours of ACC college credit<\/strong> by the start of your study abroad program. (<em>Continuing Education classes, developmental classes, and transfer credits do not apply to the 12-hour minimum.<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Not be a previous recipient of this scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Process<\/h3>\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete an <strong>advising session<\/strong> with ACC Global and Cultural Education as your first step. This session will cover program details, scholarships, and the application process.<\/li>\n<li>Submit your study abroad program application.<\/li>\n<li>After applying for the program, you will receive the scholarship application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline:<\/strong> Submit your application by <strong>February 11, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selection Criteria<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications will be ranked based on:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>GPA<\/li>\n<li>Financial need<\/li>\n<li>Short answer application questions<\/li>\n<li>Faculty recommendation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Incomplete applications will not be considered.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recipients must register for and pass all study abroad program courses. If a student fails to complete minimum credits by the start of the program, drops\/withdraws\/fails one or more of the study abroad program courses, voluntarily terminates participation, does not comply with the ACC Student Code of Conduct or study abroad program rules, or is sent home during a study abroad program, the student will be billed for the entire amount of the scholarship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation Study Abroad\/Study Away Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACC Global &amp; Cultural Education will award $40,000 of funds from the Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation for the 2026-2027 academic year. Awards will be a minimum of $500 for eligible students participating in an ACC short-term faculty-led study abroad program. All students who apply to an ACC short-term faculty-led study abroad program will be considered for the Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation funds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible for this award, students need to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be eligible for the Pell Grant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selection Criteria<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global &amp; Cultural Education will award as many students as possible with these funds. If more than 80 students are eligible, GCE will prioritize awards based on full-time student status and GPA.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recipients must register for and pass all study abroad program courses.
