Service members must coordinate with ESO\u2019s and receive approval from commanders before they begin using Federal Tuition Assistance.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After obtaining the proper approval, visit the TA portal for your respective branch and create an account.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.armyignited.army.mil\/student\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.armyignited.army.mil\/student\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Army<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/myeducation.netc.navy.mil\/webta\/home.html#nbb\" target=\"_blank\">Navy<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/afvec.us.af.mil\/afvec\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Air Force<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/usmc-mccs.org\/articles\/how-do-i-apply-for-tuition-assistance\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marines<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sas.ncdc.navy.mil\/login\/sasdeersvalidation.aspx?RedirectUrl=https:\/\/myeducation.netc.navy.mil\/webta\/home.html#nbb\" target=\"_blank\">Coast Guard<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Register for your classes.<\/li>\n<li>Log into your branch portal account and request tuition assistance for each of your classes. You\u2019ll need to have your billing statement and your class schedule in digital form to upload onto the portal if\/when prompted.<\/li>\n<li>Revisit the portal routinely in the days and weeks following your request. Once your request is approved, you will receive a TA authorization statement.<\/li>\n<li>Email your TA authorization statement to the Business Services Office at ACCSpons@austincc.edu. The Business Services Office will apply the corresponding amount to your billing statement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Tuition Assistance is limited and may not cover your entire tuition bill. You will need to make payment arrangements or work with the Financial Aid Office to pay the portion of your bill not covered by Tuition Assistance by the payment deadline in order to avoid schedule cancelation for non payment.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">CH1606 MGIB for Guard and Reserves<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>If you are currently serving in the National Guard or Reserves you may be eligible for for CH1606 MGIB for Guard and Reserves. This benefit pays you a monthly stipend while you are enrolled in school. This benefit does NOT pay for your tuition. You may not use both Federal Tuition Assistance and CH1606 benefits to cover the same courses. You are welcome to be on a payment plan or apply for Financial Aid to assist with covering your tuition.<\/p>\n<p>You can apply to use CH1606 MGIB for Guard\/Reserves online at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/va.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">va.gov<\/a>. Once you have applied for benefits, please go to the Veterans Resource Center&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/campuses\/veterans-resource-center\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>&nbsp;to complete an&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/austincc.edu\/viewer?a=v&amp;pid=sites&amp;srcid=YXVzdGluY2MuZWR1fGFjYy1mb3Jtcy1pbnZlbnRvcnl8Z3g6ZGU0ZDAxYTZkMjUxMDFm\" target=\"_blank\">Inprocessing Checklist<\/a>&nbsp;to be certified for benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Rate tables for the CH1606 benefit can be found&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benefits.va.gov\/gibill\/resources\/benefits_resources\/rate_tables.asp\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Tuition Assistance Return Policy Due to Course Withdrawal<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Withdrawing from a course(s) may require an adjustment of TA funds on the student\u2019s tuition bill in accordance with the tuition refund policies set by Texas Education Code Section 54.006 for all colleges and by ACC Administrative Rule 7.07.002.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on when a class is dropped, a 100%, 70%, 25%, or 0% refund of the tuition and fees for the class will be issued. Only classes dropped prior to the first class day receive a 100% refund. For exact semester dates assigned to these percentages, click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/registration\/additional-session-information\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Texas Education Code 54.006(f) if a student withdraws from ACC because the student is called to active military service, the institution, at the student\u2019s option, shall refund the tuition and fees paid by the student for the semester in which the student withdraws.<\/p>\n<p>Tuition and fees paid directly to the institution by DoD shall be refunded back to DoD rather than directly to the student.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Credit Transfer Policy<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>Credit for military training and service is evaluated during your first semester, but is awarded after one course is completed at ACC. You may only receive up to 30 credits for military training and service in combination with other non-institutional coursework. More information can be found in the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/catalog.austincc.edu\/college-entry\/determine-your-eligibility-to-attend\/transfer-of-credit-to-acc\/\" target=\"_blank\">ACC Catalog<\/a>. ACC uses the American Council on Education (ACE) reference guide to award credit for military training and courses only. ACC\u2019s instructional programs have the final authority on awarding credit. Following ACE recommendations, ACC does not award credit for Vocational Certificate category courses.<\/p>\n<p>Students will order their Air Force transcripts from the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.airuniversity.af.edu\/Barnes\/CCAF\/Display\/Article\/803247\/community-college-of-the-air-force-transcripts\/\" target=\"_blank\">Community College of the Air Force<\/a>&nbsp;and their Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy transcripts from the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryonesource.mil\/education-employment\/for-service-members\/preparing-for-higher-education\/the-joint-services-transcript-for-military-personnel\" target=\"_blank\">Joint Services Transcript System<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ACC\u2019s full transfer credit policy can be found on our&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/admissions\/transcript-information\/transcript-evaluation\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">ACC Re-Admission Policy<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p>ACC is an Open Admissions institution and former or stop-out students are not required to re-apply for admission to the college. (60% of course is completed)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>No TA received will be returned if the student withdraws after the sixth week of classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support Services<\/h3>\n<p>All Military Affiliated students are welcome to visit our Veterans Resource Center. The VRC provides an array of information regarding community services, the Veterans Book Loan program and connects students with other services within ACC. We assist all eligible students, whether you will be receiving VA education benefits, the State of Texas Hazlewood exemption, Active Duty or Reserve. Current newsletters with updates on military-connected events and activities on our campus can be found on our webpage.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ACC&#8217;s recruiting, advertising, and marketing policy<\/h3>\n<p>Austin Community College prohibits providing any commission, bonus, or other incentive payment (based directly or indirectly on securing enrollments or federal financial aid) to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruiting, admission activities, or making decisions regarding the award of student financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Austin Community College does not engage in high-pressure student recruitment tactics and refrains from making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more) and engaging in same-day recruitment and registration. \u201cUnsolicited contacts\u201d include school-initiated interactions by phone, email, or in-person.<\/p>\n<p>Austin Community College requires recruitment and enrollment personnel to direct military service members to their Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within the Military Service to receive enrollment approval prior to enrolling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome Active Duty Service Members, National Guard members, and Reservists!
