BRASS Events Calendar

Kick off the semester with community, inspiration, and fun! This event brings together BRASS and Ascender students for an energizing afternoon designed to help you make the most of the first year!

Programs Orientation! (Mandatory for BRASS Students)

During Orientation:

We will point out the many campus resources that are available to help if difficulties arise, program expectations and the first year experience. You will also receive:

• Free food
• Networking opportunities
• Welcome package
• Gift card raffles

Location: Rio Grande Campus, Building 3000, August 21st 12 pm – 2:00 PM (Check-in will start at 11:30 am) 

It’s a Match! Get ready to meet your mentor or mentee and kick off an exciting year together! At this fun and interactive event, students and mentors will be introduced, participate in icebreakers and team activities, and start building a strong connection.

Each pair will set goals for the academic year and make a game plan for how to stay connected during the first semester.

 This event is mandatory for students who were paired with mentors.
If either of you can’t attend in person, please notify the coordinator so we can make sure you get all the materials and activities to participate from afar!

BRASS Family Night is a community centered event designed to bring students and their support systems together for an evening of connection, engagement, and celebration. The event provides students, families, mentors, faculty, and staff with an opportunity to build relationships, learn more about the BRASS learning community, and strengthen the support systems that contribute to student success at Austin Community College

 Event Location: ACC Round Rock Campus, October 22, 2026 5:00pm- 7:00pm

Thursday, November 19th, 2026 (11:30pm- 1:30pm)

Friendsgiving:

BRASS Friendsgiving is a gathering inspired by the welcoming spirit of Indigenous Native People and the joy of coming together as friends and family. The event creates a welcoming space for students, faculty, staff, mentors, and supporters to connect, share community, express gratitude, share traditional foods associated with the students in the program and celebrate the sense of belonging cultivated through the BRASS program
