As foster youth transition out of the system, ACC offers support through the annual Foster Care Luggage Drive, aiming to give them a fresh start as they embark on their next life chapter.

In 2024, approximately 60 foster youth from the Austin area are expected to graduate.

Throughout May, ACC welcomes donations in various forms. Monetary contributions can be made through the Market Place Website. A $45 donation can cover the cost of one carry-on rolling duffel bag. Every donation, regardless of size, supports foster youth.

Alternatively, new or gently used rolling suitcases can be dropped off at any ACC Student Advocacy Center. There’s one located on every campus. All donations directly support the Department of Family and Protective Services Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) program.

ACC offers wraparound services to foster youth, including case management, academic advising, and ongoing guidance.

Additional support for students through the Student Advocacy Center includes:

  • Child care and textbook scholarships,
  • Community resources for housing and basic needs,
  • Food access,
  • Alumni support, and more.
