ACC has once again been recognized with the Gold Veterans Education Excellence Recognition Award (VEERA) from the Texas Veterans Commission — the highest honor a college can earn for serving veteran and military-connected students. This award means ACC is going above and beyond to support students who have served or whose families have served.

“Our goal is to ensure every military-affiliated student has the resources and guidance they need to succeed academically, personally, and professionally,” says Jason Briseno, Executive Dean of Financial Assistance and Veterans Affairs. “This recognition reaffirms the impact of our dedicated resources and programs. Year after year, we see veterans at ACC achieving their academic goals, transferring to universities, or moving directly into the workforce with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.”

From academic advising to financial aid guidance, emotional support, and a strong community at the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), ACC is committed to helping military-affiliated Riverbats thrive. The Veterans Resource Center, located at Highland Campus, has been a home base for veterans and their families since 2018. It’s where you can:

  • Meet with specialized academic advisors
  • Get help with VA benefits & financial aid
  • Connect with other veteran students
  • Access resources for personal & professional success
