Austin Community College District (ACC) is opening the doors to its newest education and career training location, and you are invited to take a first look. ACC hosts an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Lockhart Center, a downtown site designed to bring more classes, hands-on training, and flexible options closer to where students live and work.
Lockhart Center Ribbon Cutting and Open House
Date: Thursday, January 29
Time: 3 p.m.
Location: 303 W. San Antonio Street
The event offers a preview of the updated historic Ford Building, which is being transformed into a modern ACC learning space. When it opens in January 2026, the Lockhart Center will serve as a hub for classroom instruction and workforce training, with programs focused on high-demand skilled technical like plumbing, HVAC, and other career pathways tied to regional job opportunities.
Students who attend can tour the new facility, explore the unique learning spaces, and learn more about upcoming programs and course offerings that may better fit their schedule or location. ACC staff will also be available to answer questions about registration, programs, and future classes planned for the Lockhart area.
Spring registration is open, and students are encouraged to explore new course options as ACC continues expanding offerings in Lockhart.
