Students are invited to join ACC in celebrating a leader who helped shape the College from the very beginning. The ACC Board of Trustees will hold its January meeting at the Eastview Campus in recognition of Roland C. Hayes, a founding faculty member and longtime champion for student success and opportunity.
Before the meeting, the College will host a special reception honoring Hayes and his lasting impact on ACC and its students.
Reception Honoring Roland C. Hayes
Date: Monday, January 12, 2026
Time: 2 p.m.

Hayes has served ACC for 52 years, beginning as one of the founding faculty members in 1973 when the College first opened its doors. For over five decades, he has shaped the institution’s academic and cultural identity as a history professor, mentor, advocate, and leader for students. His work establishing and leading the African American Cultural Center helped create a welcoming home for students, families, and the broader Central Texas community.
