Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomes students back for the spring semester. Whether you’re returning to campus or starting at ACC for the first time, you have access to a wide range of tools and support designed to help you begin the term with confidence.
ACC has updated its student page, creating a central hub for academic tools, services, and resources you’ll need throughout the semester. We encourage you to bookmark austincc.edu/students and use it as a go-to resource all semester long.
Top Tips for Your First Few Days
As classes get underway, ACC recommends a few simple steps to help you start strong.
- Check Your Schedule & Start Dates: Not all classes start at the same time. Some begin earlier, others later in the semester. Check the course schedule to confirm when and where your classes meet.
- Visit Campus Early: If you’re taking in-person classes, stop by your campus before the first day. Walk your route, locate your classrooms, and identify key areas such as Student Services, Food Pantries, Libraries, and restrooms.
- Know the Room Numbers: Most ACC classrooms follow a simple system.
- Example: Room 1314 = Building 1000, 3rd floor, Room 14.
- Use Campus Maps & Wayfinding: Each campus has its own unique features. Maps, kiosks, and campus webpages can help you find your way. Bookmark your campus page for maps, hours, and contacts.
- Plan Your Transportation: Parking is always free at ACC, and students can ride CapMetro for free through the ACC Green Pass. It includes bus and metrorail — and it’s free to most students.
- Check ACCmail Daily: This is how instructors and the College will communicate with you.
Support for Your Classes & Finances
We also encourage you to review your tuition status and payment deadlines in Self-Service. Even when tuition is covered through financial aid or other programs, some students may still have course-related fees, textbooks, or supplies to plan for.
ACC’s Financial Aid team is available to help you find money to pay for your classes:
- Financial Aid & FAFSA Support: Our financial aid team can help you complete your FAFSA and make sure you’re receiving all the funding you’re eligible for.
- Scholarships: One application can match you with hundreds of ACC scholarships based on your major, achievements, and financial need. The 2026 scholarship application opens this month. You get priority consideration when you apply by May 1.
Support for Life Outside the Classroom
ACC also offers support beyond the classroom.
- Food Pantries: Free groceries, snacks, and personal care items are available at every ACC campus.
- Student Emergency Fund: If an unexpected expense threatens your ability to stay enrolled, one-time emergency funding may be available.
- Money Management Coaching: Meet with a money coach to build a budget, manage expenses, and plan ahead.
- Mental Health Support: Free, confidential counseling and wellness services are available throughout the semester. Services are available in person and virtually.
- Child Care Support: Scholarships and resources are available to help student parents balance school and family.
