Austin Community College District (ACC) students put the design skills they learned in the classroom to life through a partnership with Travis County Voter Registration.
Over the past year, students in ACC’s Design Studio worked with Travis County Voter Registration to refresh its department logo and develop promotional and educational materials designed to help residents register to vote and keep their voter information up to date.
As part of the project, students developed multiple logo concepts featuring a new mascot – the armadillo – and created fresh visual options that connected voting with a distinctly Texas identity. The collaboration has since expanded to include voter education materials that are being used to reach residents across Travis County.

“Based on the success of our new logo, we continued our partnership with ACC’s Design Studio to continue to create promotional and educational materials to engage Travis County residents about updating their voter registration,” wrote Mary Fuery, Voter Registration Outreach program coordinator. “We are incredibly grateful for ACC and their talented students! We would not have these important changes without them!”
ACC’s Design Studio allows students to develop practical design skills through hands-on projects with community and business partners. Through experiential learning projects, students can work directly with clients and apply their classroom training to real-world design challenges.

A Timely Reminder to Register
The partnership comes as Texas voters prepare for the Tuesday, November 3, 2026, election. Monday, October 5, is the deadline to register to vote or update a voter registration address for the November election.
ACC’s ACC Votes is a nonpartisan initiative that provides students with voter registration information and resources, including information organized by county.
