Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Culinary Arts Department welcomed internationally renowned Chef Paolo Taricco from Italy for an exclusive two-day cooking demonstration. The event showcased the opportunities available through ACC’s Study Abroad Program in Italy.

Chef Taricco, known for his expertise in traditional Italian cooking, led two unique sessions. 

  • Hands-On Pasta Making & Culinary Demonstrations

Local culinary professionals joined Chef Taricco for a pasta-making session. Participants learned the techniques and traditions that define Italian cuisine.

  • Student Culinary Demonstration

ACC Culinary students gathered for a live demonstration where Chef Taricco prepared classic Italian dishes, sharing his expertise on ingredients, techniques, and the cultural significance of each dish.

The event previewed ACC’s Study Abroad Program in Italy, where students can expand their culinary skills while immersing themselves in Italian culture. 

Study Abroad programs allow students to travel to other countries during the summer and explore cultural enrichment while gaining academic credits. The College offers about 10 diverse offerings for the summer 2025 semester. The deadline to apply is Thursday, February 6.
