Know Your Rights Info Session - Open to All ACC Students, Faculty, and Staff
In this virtual informative session, you will learn and ask questions about your legal rights and safety planning strategies.

SEXucation SEXsion - Open to All ACC Students, Faculty, and Staff
Let’s Talk: Professionals will be presenting on their areas of expertise, including the rights and responsibilities in Title IX, the psychological aspects of intimacy, and insights on the prevention and awareness of STIs. You will have the opportunity to ask anonymous your sex questions, concerns, and curiosities.

Students will tour a college campus, will get information about the admission process, and learn about transfer opportunities. Expect an email with details from the Coordinator.

2025 Spring Calendar for Ascender Students and Mentors
Please note that the following events are exclusively for current ASCENDER students, faculty, and staff.
Alejandra and/or Diana will visit ASCENDER classrooms at the beginning of class, will go over the spring calendar, and give announcements and reminders. They will also take questions from students and take photos.
Spring Kick Off! (Mandatory for ASCENDER students)
Students who participate in ASCENDER, BRASS, and Career Scholars will:
- Get more information about career and transfer options.
- Talk about high-demand, high-wage-earnings programs.
- Learn about community service learning and study abroad.
- Play games and have fun!

Scholarship Session (Mandatory for ASCENDER students)
A Financial Aid representative will host an informational session to guide students through the process of completing the ACC General Scholarship application. Students will also gain insight into various scholarship opportunities and learn how to apply for multiple local and national scholarships.
During an Ascender ENGL 1302 class time (Dates/Times will be announced once we finalize the dates with the English professors.)

Career Day (Mandatory for ASCENDER students and mentors)
A Career Services representative will provide valuable information to help you navigate the job application process and understand the hiring process. The session will also offer insights beneficial for transferring to a 4-year university. You will also practice your interview skills with a mock interview.

Celebración (Mandatory for ASCENDER students, faculty, and staff)
All of the participants of the Ascender family will celebrate the culmination of the student’s first year of college. A Keynote Speaker will address parents and students with a motivational speech. Professors and Staff will be recognized during the ceremony, and students will receive the Ascender Graduation stole, during a festive environment.

CTN Motivational Conference at UT Austin (Optional for Ascender students)
Catch the Next’s Transfer Motivational Conference is designed to introduce community college students to university life experiences and to motivate them to transfer to a four-year university. This conference will enable students to gain insight from university representatives and guest speakers on topics such as the admissions processes, financial aid, university transfer resources, and more.
